Our Philosophy, Core Values and Virtues

Camp Frontier’s philosophy, core values and virtues shape a caring Florida summer camp community where character, personal growth and responsible choices are part of everyday life.

Beliefs become meaningful through everyday experience.

Camp Is for the Camper

Everything about Camp Frontier begins with a simple belief: camp should serve the needs of the Camper. Each child arrives with a unique personality, talents, abilities, interests, strengths and hopes—and each deserves a summer built for discovery, belonging and growth.

Celebrate every Camper’s uniqueness

Campers are not expected to fit one narrow definition of success. Choice lets them pursue what interests them, discover abilities they did not know they had and contribute their own gifts to the Camp community.

Virtue in action

Community and belonging

Every Camper should be known, valued and invited to contribute. Shared traditions, activities and lodge experiences help Campers understand that they are part of something larger than themselves.

Virtue in action

Courage and growth

Trying something new, asking for help, performing on stage, learning a skill or repairing a friendship all require courage. Camp celebrates genuine effort and the confidence that follows.

Virtue in action

Friendship is central—not an extra

Shared lodge life, meals, activities, traditions and celebrations create the time friendships need to deepen. Those relationships are among Camp Frontier’s most lasting gifts.

Virtue in action

Fun, challenge and encouragement belong together

The best growth happens when Campers feel safe enough to try. Caring staff encourage young people through new activities, social moments, setbacks and accomplishments so confidence grows from real experience.

Virtue in action

Independence with a strong support system

OverNight Camp gives children meaningful space to make choices, solve problems and become more capable. Counselors and Life Directors remain close by to guide, notice, encourage and care.

Virtue in action

Kindness and service

Camp life creates daily chances to help, include, encourage, share and notice what another person needs. Service turns a collection of individuals into a caring community.

Our Core Values

Camp Frontier’s core values grow from traditional American Judeo-Christian beliefs: patriotism, love for one another, reverence for God and trust in Scripture and the truths it teaches. They guide how Campers and staff speak, lead, worship, compete, serve and care for the people around them.

Patriotism, Honor and Respect

Campers learn respect for themselves, one another, their Counselors, the Camp community, our country and God, our Creator. Honor means doing what is right even when no recognition follows.

Virtue in action

Personal responsibility

Campers practice keeping commitments, caring for shared spaces, making thoughtful choices and understanding how their actions affect friends and lodge life.

Scripture, Faith and Gratitude

The truths of Scripture encourage prayer, gratitude, humility and love for one another. Christians and Jews pray, play and worship together in respect and support of one another’s spiritual journey.

The Camp for Good Kids

Great kids deserve a great summer with other great kids. Camp Frontier is designed for young people who are on track with age-appropriate self-control and ready to contribute to a positive Camp community.

Virtue of the Day

A different virtue is emphasized each day at morning and evening flag, then reflected on as each cabin concludes the evening. Campers practice it through friendships, activities and everyday choices.
